Description:
The Casita was the first house build on the Anamaya property, and it’s one of the cutest little houses in Montezuma. It has a huge deck with hammocks, overlooking the gardens and ocean.
Casita used to be a small house on the property before Anamaya was built. It is now a large and lovely home for solo travelers, 5 friends, or anyone traveling on a budget. We have something for everyone in terms of affordability.
There is a large deck with hammocks and a seating area overlooking the ocean and the jungle, and it is well designed with high ceilings with a lot of natural light and airflow.
We call the Casita a dorm style room because it is a shared space, but this is unlike any dorm you’ve seen. It is surrounded by organic herb and vegetable gardens, and has two bathrooms – including a very large garden bathroom and shower that our guests rave about and will often use it to take showers in the rain!
The Casita is the first structure that was built on this property so it is set apart from our other cabinas, offering a lot of space and privacy.

I wanted to do a 200 hr yoga teacher training "someday". I figured when the kids were older and I could travel and take a month away, I'd do it then... Then the most amazing opportunity presented itself... Colynn was hosting a teacher training in Costa Rica... I worried about being the least experienced or "bendy"... Colynn teaches in such a way that you feel and understand the postures in your own body, with a focus on the functional versus aesthetic. She would remind us that the goal was not to aim for a "look" but instead to aim for the feeling. This direction lends to an atmosphere of body acceptance and makes it easier to learn. I was so focused on being in my own body that it didn't matter what I looked like compared to someone else. This was the best investment you can make in yourself!
Peter has a distinct ability to read the energy of his students and therefore teaches with the right amount of guidance and instruction. The Thai massage portion was beautiful and his yoga style strong. I’m leaving his training a stronger person, feeling empowered every time I step on and off my mat grateful for all the tools I learned during the training.
